We will build a customized analysis for your company

The easiest and best way to see what the insurance market actually offers your company is to let us build the comparison for you. We know which carriers are writing small group business in this area, what they charge, and which of their plans are worth putting in front of your employees.

It costs you nothing, and it produces a document you can take into a decision rather than a stack of brochures.

The process

Three steps to a real comparison

None of this takes long. The first meeting is short, the census is straightforward, and the analysis comes back to you.

1. Start with your goals

We begin with a short meeting to establish what you want this benefit to accomplish.

Many employers have offered health insurance for years. It was affordable when it started, and premiums now feel more like a mortgage payment. It is easy to end up feeling trapped by an expensive plan you inherited from your own earlier decisions.

So we ask a simple question: if you had never offered benefits before and could start over today, what would you want to accomplish, and how much would you be willing to pay? It lets employers look at health insurance through new lenses.

2. Send us a simple census

You complete a short census form covering the employees and dependents to be included in the plan.

It needs names, and dates of birth or ages where a birthdate is not available. That is enough for carriers to rate the group accurately.

3. Read your 21st Century Benefits Report

We use the census to build a customized analysis that identifies the most cost effective plans available to you.

The report is built to do two things at once: maximize the benefit your employees actually receive, and help you as a business control what you spend.

What the report will show you

The comparison is built around the menu described in the 4-step action plan, so you can see the whole design rather than one plan at a time.

  • The HSA qualified Bronze plan we would recommend as the default, and what the employer would pay for it.

  • A traditional Silver plan, and where appropriate a Gold level plan, for employees who need or prefer a lower deductible and low copays.

  • What a defined contribution costs you per employee, and what it does for an employee who takes the default plan compared with one who buys up.

  • Which carriers and networks are involved, so you can check whether the doctors your people already use are in them.

  • What the same design would cost at a different renewal date, if moving your renewal is worth considering.

A note on choosing the menu

Do not put twenty options in front of people. A short, well chosen menu is what makes a real decision possible, and every plan on it should be there for a reason you can explain out loud.

That is the standard we hold the report to. If we cannot tell you why a plan is on the list, it comes off the list.
